I think of a garden as a place for healing and for refreshment of the senses and I want to share ours with you. We started with an expanse of grass and a mature maple tree almost 20 years ago and gradually have been co-creating a medicinal garden of native Maine plants, shrubs, berries, flowers, fruit trees, herbs, birds and pollinators.
Creating and tending to a garden is timeless and fulfilling work. We disappear into the ancient cycles of digging, planting, rooting, pruning, ripening; and find sustenance, solace, beauty, awe, impermanence and inspiration.
The garden offers deep medicine to restore the body, heart, mind and senses.
Spring
When we experience the beautiful, there is a sense of homecoming. Some of our most wonderful memories are beautiful places where we felt immediately at home. We feel most alive in the presence of the beautiful.
